Hello, my name is Carolyn Hembree, breeder At Marquis Royal Court Chihuahuas, we are dedicated to breeding healthy and happy puppies. Our breeding program focuses on genetic health testing, vet clearance of patella’s, eyes, heart, good temperament, and conformation to the breed standard. We take great pride in our work and strive to produce puppies that will be a perfect fit for your family.
My husband Dr. Mark R. Hembree, DVM. (Dr Veterinarian Medicine). We have 2 adult children 1 grandchild, and live a quiet life enjoying our family, friends and animals. My husband attended college of Mississippi State University of veterinary medicine where he finished his 8 year DVM degree .
My husband was a huge impact on my decision to start a breeding program in 2000. We both have so much love and compassion for animals. I thought I would give it a try, and started my research, and here I am today, loving my passion for such amazing little animals. We are a small in home breeder of Chihuahuas at this time, I bred and showed papillons for many years along with my chihuahuas. I have since retired from breeding papillons.
We are located in a little community about 8 miles outside of Hattiesburg Mississippi and I would love to share my story about how I have come to love these beautiful, intelligent dogs. My experience began as a very young child, helping my grandma care for chihuahua puppies and kittens. I have always had a passion for dogs and cats and we have always had Chihuahuas in our home. I have researched the breed for many years and believe in breeding the finest quality of Chihuahuas that I possibly can. I find them to be the perfect toy breed for me and have resolved to learn all that I can about them.
Chihuahuas are especially wonderful companion dogs. They have a strong desire to be with the people they love, their family. This provides a rich, non-threatening, interesting environment. We provide exposure too many variables such as interaction with people, playtime with many different toys, introduction to new surroundings, and car rides. Our Dogs and puppies all live in our home as part of our family, and handled from birth. They do everything we do, from lounging on the sofa, to sitting in the recliner with my Husband and sleeping in our bed.
These dogs are certainly not "just dogs." It has taken me years of extensive research, studying bloodlines, learning, many heartaches and dedication to help me develop my breeding program.
Not to mention the expense of buying and importing dogs from other countries. Through hard won experience I have learned the critical importance of genetic quality. My breeding dogs have been selectively chosen from all over the world and are bred with the healthiest and best bloodlines available.
Care and thought must go into each breeding to decrease possible consequences like patella luxation, heart or liver problems, poor coats and many other malformations.
It is my primary goal as a responsible breeder to ensure healthy, friendly, intelligent puppies that exhibit breed standards for appearance with correct conformation, elegant movement, entrancing temperaments, sound bodies and to meet all AKC standards.
My husband is our veterinarian and he performs all health examinations on each of our puppies. Our adult dogs have the customary health check-ups, including yearly vaccinations, being dewormed every 3 month, and taking heartworm preventative. In addition to these check-ups, my breeding dogs receive additional care such as physical exams of their patellas, heart, and lungs; dental checks with dental cleaning as needed.
We are Embark health testing our dogs for over 250 genetic defects. Embark test results are accepted by OFA.
My husband, also a veterinarian, is available when there is an emergency situation or we take our dogs to Davis vet clinic, to see
Doctor chip for surgeries and such. I also have experience as a veterinarian assistant and a dog groomer.
I encourage you to remember that a puppy or dog is not a standardized product. I do not recommend buying a puppy from a pet store. A dog is a f purchase for years to come and you will want to get the best from A reputable breeder.
We sell most of our puppies as pets. Occasionally we sell to breeders. Please do not hesitate to contact me at carolynhembree67@bellsouth.net
and fill out an application and become pre approved for one of our babies.
