Due to inflation and rise in dog foods, vet care, medicines, C-sections, supplies, vaccinations, heartworm prevention, dog beds, toys, cleaning products and etc.
we have no choice but to raise our prices. How can a reputable breeder continue to breed and raise healthy happy pups now with such price-increases...We have No choice but to raise our prices. If we tend to stay in business.
People don't really realize the number of costs we breeders have even before a litter hits the ground
The cost before a litter is born....Progesterone testing, stud fee if we don’t own the sire, ultrasound, vitamins, special food for our pregnant mommas. We go to a veterinarian clinic that doesn't work for free. In fact they have raised their prices on office visits, C-section, puppy vaccination, meds and everything has increased.
If you have a C-section on weekends, on holidays,or after opening hours prices...you may pay anywhere from 3000-6000. For a C-section. Chihuahuas are known for requiring C-sections.
I'm not even talking about the money we spend on puppy supplies, replacement milk, vitamins, puppy food, puppy pee pads, shampoo, toys, beds, flea, and heart worm preventive, medications and etc.
The expense of taking care of our adults, very costly, they require quality food, vet care, teeth cleanings, vaccinations, dewormings, and etc.
I have imported chihuahuas from different countries which has cost me a fortune up to 15k. Shipping cost Is very expensive and on the rise.
When I start weaning my babies they are put on a high quality puppy food which isn't cheap. The list just goes on, not to meantion the time that’s required taking care of adults and puppies,(around the clock) even when a mom has only 1 live puppy, she requires the same amount of care as a mom with a litter of 3 pups...Often times we loose pups and whole litter, even moms. It’s not an easy job as one may think, breeding has many heartbreaks along the way. But joy as well.
We are lucky if we break even...If you adopt one of our puppies you can be sure you get a well loved, socialized and happy puppy ❤ We put a lot of love and care into raising our babies and just want the very best for them ❤ I give my all to each and everyone of our puppies. This post is just to make people clear there's a lot more to breeding than just putting a male and female together. Breeders work 24 hours a day and even holidays.
There's a lot of back yard breeders out there that sell for cheap, (not Breeding quality chihuahuas) but are only in it for the money and do not take properly care of their adults and puppies.
I don't make a living out of my dogs.
We do it out of love for the breed here's nothing more rewarding then making families happy and seeing your babies that are being loved and well taken care of.
